Founded in 2002 as the Microfinance Information Exchange, MIX was recognized as the leading global data resource for inclusive finance. MIX’s catalytic data initiatives encouraged the growth of inclusive markets and supported informed thinking on the future of financial services. MIX addressed information asymmetries in fintech, digital financial services, and agricultural finance. It also developed common standards and language and provided clarity around complex data.

MIX was recognized as the leading global data resource for inclusive finance.

It was also well known for MIX Market, a data hub where financial service providers and supporting organizations shared institutional data to broaden transparency and market insight (the data is currently hosted on the World Bank’s website). Over the years, MIX had built long-standing relationships with many financial inclusion funders as contributors to MIX or clients of its subscription products.

MIX became a unit of CFI in June 2020. Below is an archive of MIX publications prior to its integration.
