Astrid de Valon is leading the United Nations World Food Programme’s work on Digital Financial Inclusion and Women’s Economic Empowerment along with a team of talents. She is passionate about putting more money into more women’s hands, listening to their voices, and improving their experiences when receiving assistance on their own digital financial accounts. She started her career in the private sector with the Boston Consulting Group and spent over eighteen years in Africa and at the global level with UN Agencies, International NGOs, the European Union, and the OECD. Astrid holds an MBA from ESSEC Business School, France, and Universität Manheim, Germany.
