Bob Annibale joined Citi in 1982 and has held numerous positions throughout his tenure. He is most recognized for founding and leading the Citi Inclusive Finance initiative which was launched in 2005 and subsequently evolved into Citi Community Development. Since inception, this division has mobilized over $3.8bn in financing across 36 countries, with new products for underserved communities. As the Global Director of Citi Inclusive Finance and Community Development, Bob leads Citi’s relationships, programs, investments, and contributions with global, national and local organizations, clients, municipal governments and Citi businesses to support inclusive finance and community development to fulfill Citi’s mission to enable economic growth and progress, reinforce our commitments to communities and clients, and manage reputational risk, while meeting regulatory responsibilities and raising positive visibility for the franchise. Bob has also served 10 years on the board of Citi Foundation and through a matrix management structure supports the EMEA Community Development/Foundation officer.
Bob currently sits on the Accion board, as well as that of the Bedford Stuyvestant Restoration Corp. He is also in his third term on the FDIC Chairman’s Advisory Committee on Economic Inclusion, the only large-bank member, and was a founding member of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs Advisory Council on Financial Education and Inclusion. Bob used to serve on the CGAP board, the steering committee of the UK Government Impact Program, the MIX, and the board of the University of London, among other non-profit organizations.
