Lauren brings 15 years of financial inclusion experience to CFI, spanning research and strategic communications. She works with CFI’s researchers to produce meaningful knowledge products in support of CFI’s strategy. Prior to joining Accion, Lauren worked at CGAP, where she held several roles, including as a research lead on digital finance and the health and education sectors. Lauren also spent several years as the managing editor of CGAP’s FinDev Gateway and is the founder of the Gateway Academy. In addition to her financial inclusion experience, Lauren also worked at Marriott International, where she led strategic initiatives for the digital guest experience portfolio and has also worked as a microenterprise consultant and researcher at an education nonprofit.
Lauren holds a bachelor’s degree in international political economy from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s degree in international development from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
