With over 15 years of experience in financial inclusion, Tanwi has served for more than a decade in various roles at Accion and CFI, most recently focusing on advocacy and advisory projects on consumer protection in Asia.
In her current portfolio, she provides insights and manages projects in responsible digital finance, crisis management among financial inclusion investors, and consumer protection.
In her previous work with Accion, Tanwi steered multiple projects by providing technical assistance to build business verticals for the MSME segment, product development, risk management, market research, and capacity building. She is licensed and trained in instructional design for middle and senior managers.
Before Accion, Tanwi worked at Dvara Trust, Chennai, as head of strategy and product development. She devised expansion strategies, innovative products, and tools for microfinance institutions, and developed solutions for effective market linkages for low-income clients.
Tanwi previously served on the steering committee of the Responsible Inclusive Finance Facility for Southeast Asia (RIFFSEA), SPTF.
She holds an MBA from Xavier Institute of Management, India, and an executive MBA from Cornell. Recently, she also completed a course on digital identity from the Digital Frontiers Institute. She is fluent in English and Hindi and is learning basic Spanish.
