General Manager, Advisory Services, Good Shepherd Microfinance

Vinita Godinho is the General Manager of Advisory Services at Good Shepherd Microfinance (GSM), Australia’s largest microfinance provider. As part of her Fulbright Visiting Scholars Fellowship, Vinita is serving as a CFI Research Fellow focusing on behaviorally-informed interventions to improve the financial health and well-being of low-income families and individuals in Australia and elsewhere.

At GSM, Vinita has established a fully sustainable advisory and consulting function, focusing on inclusive finance, and leads the research function to provide policy, positioning, intellectual leadership and impact evaluation. She has over 20 years of financial sector experience as a banker in India and Australia and has been widely recognized as an influential and respected leader in financial inclusion, action research, community development and financial services, having completed her doctoral studies on financial inclusion and well-being for Indigenous Australians.
