The Smart Campaign is proud to take its message of client protection and empowerment to the Social Performance Task Force’s (SPTF) Annual Meeting. Smart Campaign director Isabelle Barres, who is also on the SPTF Board of Directors, will be attending the Social Investors Working Group meeting to discuss the progress, updates and challenges of ongoing investor initiatives in responsible inclusive finance. Isabelle will also be co-leading the breakout workshop “Indications of Financial Stress Among Clients” with Bobbi Gray of Freedom from Hunger, where she will share Smart Campaign research and tools to answer questions like: How do financial service providers know when clients are struggling to manage their debt and other financial obligations?, and What early indications of client-over indebtedness can providers measure in order to prevent a portfolio crisis?
This year, SPTF will feature topics compelling to its global membership, with a special emphasis on cutting edge examples from Latin America. Topics will include regulation to promote financial inclusion; collection and analysis of social outcomes data; technology to enhance productivity and client centricity; and strategies for creating shared value and balanced performance. As the first SPTF Annual Meeting held in Latin America since 2013, this gathering will bring together participants from diverse contexts to facilitate peer exchange on successes and challenges in our sector and dialogue on the latest in international best practices.
